Unspoken code

If you want to follow the basic rules of Buenos Aires social code, you need this information:

1. Kiss everyone. If you are a guy you are probably happy, but be aware that when I say everyone I mean it. Women and also men. There are some exceptions, some older guys don`t kiss guys, but there is no exception with women, kiss the all (on the cheek of course, and just one, this is not Spain, where they kiss on both cheeks)
2.Be Late. Always. Unless you have a dinner reservation, it is expected to arrive late. If someone invites you to a party, you have to be there at least 1 hour late.
Here are some examples:
Porteño says........ Lets meet at the Park at 5 to drink some mates
I would say that 10-15 minutes late is apropiate
Porteño says...... I`ll be there between 4 and 4.30
If you don`t want to wait for half an hour, be there at 4.30!!!!
Porteño says...... I`ll come to your house this afternoon
Never let porteños do this to you. Afternoon lasts for a long time, so if you don`t want to watch tv all day waiting for your friend, I suggest you to tell him/her that you have to leave at 7, so she/he will arrive at least at 5.
Porteño says.......There is this cool movie I want to see. Lets meet ath the theatre at 10.30 sharp cause the movie starts at 10.40
He/she`ll be there exactly at 10.40
