Argentinian guys: a sociological study of young men aged between 20 and 30

After our study we have reached many conclusions. We have also distinguished several categories to describe Porteño guys from 20 to 30 years old. Here you have our brand new catalogue : "Men that you don`t want to go out with"

Adrian is 28. He has been in law school for the past decade. He says he`ll get his degree this year but the truth is that he is in 3rd year so being realistic he won`t graduate till 2009 at least. He lives with his parents and he works in his father`s studio, but whenever he needs to buy something he asks his mommy to give him money. And she does, but instead of buying the underwear he claims to need, he pays for the telo, cause his family doesn`t want him to bring girls to his room. He is the only one among his friends who lives with his parents, but he is proud cause he doesn`t spend money and his mother cooks and cleans for him. He says he doesn`t believe in marriage. The only thing that this guy has that may be appealing for girls it`s his looks. So girls dump him after 2 dates (if he gets a second date)

David is 25 and a half (in his words). He has been a bass player since he was 15. He had a band, but he will never be successful mainly because he is a bum (and his lack of talent). He is studying design at the UBA. There he met a lot of gay guys. He admires them so much that he decided to be like them, except for the fact that he is straight. He acts like a gay man, he tries to dress as a gay man, but he likes girls. Unfortunately some girls like his androgyny so he always has a girlfriend skinnier than he is. He works as a waiter in a hip bar and he goes out almost 6 nights a week.

Fernando is a normal guy. When we asked him what was the meaning of normal he replied: Normal, common. As scientist that we are we can say that there is nothing normal in this 27 year old neanderthal. His interests are basically soccer and talking about soccer. He has a tattoo in his arm that represents his love for his favourite soccer team. He drinks beer. When he drinks beer he becomes aggressive. When he is aggressive he begins to curse. When he curse he often tries to offend the gay people. When he does that he feels like he has controlled his own homosexual impulses. But he dates a lot of girls, he treats them badly (he even confessed that he hit a girl once) and he leaves them before they can tell that he can`t have an erection.

Mariano is 23 and last year he graduated. Now he is proud of his degree in economy. He has started a master during the summer. He is working for a big company. He is making almost the same money than his father. He treats everybody very very well. He knows that he can get what he want from people if he is charming. When he was a little kid he used to kill little animals and he fantasize about it very now and then. When he has a girlfriend he is never faithful, cause he thinks that in a few years he won`t be good looking anymore so he has to get laid while he can. He is loosing his hair so he goes to a hair recovery clinic (that`s his worst secret).
