Is she porteña?

You are dating a girl but you are not sure if she is porteña or not? Answer truth or false to the following statements. If more than 4 are true, there is no doubt that the girl is 100% porteña

1- You met her a week ago and you are already getting tired of her demmands

2- She talks about her last boyfriend, how bad the relationship was and how hurt she is

3- She says things like "Argentine men are idiots/inmature/ass-----"

4- She asks you if you like her or if you "really" like here at least once every 2 sentences

5- She gets mad at stupid things and 2 minutes after yelling at you she is calm and sweat again

6-She goes crazy if you talk to the waitress more than what she thinks it´s appropriate

7- She compares herself to other women and asks your opinion about it

8-If you pay to much attention to her she´ll feel like you are invading her space

9- if you don´t call her for a day she´ll think that you are cheating or that you´ve lost interest

Algunos puntos (no todos pero casi) se pueden aplicar a los hombres porteños

Hi Matt, I guess that las mujeres de estados unidos son histericas tambien.
Anonima/o I´ll write about men too, but you are right.

I strongly disagree with the statement that american women are just about the same as porteñas... I think american women are not nearly as hysterical... Argentines girls have taken the concept of "hysterical" to a whole different level. IMHO, they are the most complicated women in the world. I find foreign girls (including american)to be more relaxed and easy-going.

Diva said...

Thank you G manifesto!!! Hey, I´ve been reading your blog, I want to see a picture of the porteñas braiding your hair like if you were Snoop Doggy Dogg
Brian, I also think that in general, women from other countries are less hysterical that we are. But it´s just buenos aires I think, not the entire country. The same thing with guys

The G Manifesto said...

De nada!

Portenas to me are perfect. Sensual, fly, and passionate.

Sure, they can be difficult, but what in life is worth it that isnt difficult?

"Difficult" doesn't always equate to "better"... I prefer a friendly foreign chick over a hysterical porteña any day... Besides, I don't find porteño women exceptionally beautiful. In fact, the majority of them look really average to me. I could spot a porteño woman in another country from a mile away. They all seem to look identical. Same looks, same facial features, same attitudes, etc. That's why i'm always surprised when I hear Argentines brag about their diversity. If you ask me, I think they are quite an homogeneous bunch.

Diva said...

well, you sound a little bit nazi. You don´t have to like us, but I don´t think we are an homogeneous bunch
G-manifesto, I´m glad that you´ve learned how to handle the porteñas
best

The G Manifesto said...

True. "Difficult" doesn't always equate to "better".

But challenges are what make us better people.

Yeah, I get along good with Portenas.

I got it like that.

Cmon Diva, el chico no dijo NADA nazi. Vos estas un poco histerica, nena.

Y... aunque no lo haya dicho... ese pais siempre me parecio un invento, incluso genetico. Nazi o judio, your choice.

Lu said...

Just one more thing: I am, having a hard time here... understanding the logic of this blog...

How is that!? You say everything you hate about BsAs and Argentina, but when someone actually AGREES with ya, you start overreacting like "you don't have to like us" quotes.

What gives you this right and not us? Please tell me where you got it from, I wanna run to that shop and buy it! :-)

Last, but not least: saying something like "but I don´t think we are an homogeneous bunch" is sooooo porteno!

Your comments only talk about your lack of intelligence.
And that little joke about us being a genetic experiment only indicates that your sense of humor is almost as low as your intelligence). Please, if you want to comment anything else e mail me and don´t forget to write down your address.
I really don´t like this kind of comments when I´m suffering from the PMS

Lu said...

"Your comments only talk about your lack of intelligence."

I have to use very little of my intelligence to make sense of the nonsense of your blog.

Putting someone down to avoid answering the question is soooo porteño... are you porteña? :)))

"And that little joke about us being a genetic experiment only indicates that your sense of humor is almost as low as your intelligence)."

This little joke about "sponsor my life" and "I am homeless" just shows how much you fake your life to those who don't know you put on a character on this blog. Show your real Recoletosa life to people! Perhaps that's why you hate San Telmo so much (and I don't blame you...)

"Please, if you want to comment anything else e mail me and don´t forget to write down your address."

Take off your mask first! Then I can start considering your suggestion...

"I really don´t like this kind of comments when I´m suffering from the PMS"

Don't blame your PMS for this... you don't like this kind of comments... PERIOD!

Diva said...

hahaha, I´m amused by the fact that you think that I´m from recoleta and that you don´t believe that not so long ago I was homeless or that I need sponsoring in my life. Funny, I don´t know how you ended up with those conclusions, but it´s ok, you can think whatever you want.
You want me to unmask myself, mmmm maybe someday, when I decide to end this blog (probably pretty soon) I´m so much better in person than what my Diva character is that you´d probably love me if you meet me... Don´t be difficult, try to find sense in my blog, just pretend that you are a porteña and read it, after all you think that you know us pretty well.
I enjoy controversy by the way.

Lu said...

Di-Diva,

I WANT you to show us that amazing person. But don't pretend you don't know me nor be frightened by not being able to remember... :)

But I was frankly amazed by the fact that the lion lost its roar and started to meow like a nice pussycat when faced with the truth.

Not so hard, huh?

Happy to know you calmed down a bit.

By the way, Recoletosa, as we all know, does not mean you actually ARE from or live or visit Recoleta or even are able to point it out on a map- you might be a mere wannabe-bi-bi.

"I enjoy controversy."

You always say you like to have people fighting through the comments in your blog. I understand you try to get more visitors through provocation, but it is not my case.

"...after all you think that you know us pretty well."

Actually, you think that too, pretending you're different from the usual portenio, but then you act just the same.

Am I so evil to say that? Am I the one being difficult? We both know I got your point pretty well.

It's just so lame you cannot show this "amazing person" you are to get blog traffic, or even prove whata good tour guide you are. :P

Diva said...

Do we know each other? I don´t remember.
MMM I have no intention in showing the world who I am, that´s why I don´t use my real name, and for sure I don´t want to appear as an excellent or efficient tour guide (even though I certainly am), that´s why I´ve chosen the name bitch tours.
An believe me that I´m don´t care about the traffic I get. You have the idea that I´m some kind of a yuppie trying to be millionaire with a blog and a business like mine, c´mon.
I never say that I´m not aporteña, in fact I always say it. Anyway, now that I know you are a porteña, I know that you know what I´m talking about here, and that it makes sense.
saludos

Anitsuga,

I like it when you write in a calm way.

Despite the fact that, even being calm, you write things like "AN believe me that I´M DON´T care about"... = and... I don't...)

"You have the idea that I´m some kind of a yuppie trying to be millionaire with a blog and a business like mine, c´mon."

I do not have that idea... I know it. But you don't have to try hard... your parents did that before so that you didn't have to follow the same path. So that you had plenty of time being a fake rebel.

Anyway, being a fake rebel is an easy task in this Argentina with a K. You just camp in a Plaza, apply for a "Jefes y Jefas" plan and join a workers' union that faithfully bows to the central government. There you go! (Of course, some people do it in more sophisticated though still detectable ways.)

"I never say that I´m not a porteña"

...but if someone says you are, then you say you are DIFFERENT. And that's so porteño...

"Anyway, now that I know you are a porteña, I know that you know what I´m talking about here, and that it makes sense."

Do you know it? Are you saying nobody else but you is capable of faking something they are NOT? Don't take it for granted, dear.

Actually, if I am faking and you fell into a trap, THAT'S when I really help your blog make sense!!!

Diva said...

Oh , I should have noticed that you are american when I read this : Vos estas un poco histerica, nena.
well ,my answer to your question would be "it´s my party and I cry if I want to"
And yes, I´m an histerica o estoy histerica (if you like it better that way)on recovery, but believe me it´s not an easy task to abandon that habit.
Me? a rebel? I´ve been trhough that already.
mmmmm, at first I was amused, but now you are trying to be smart and going a little crazy. Maybe you should do something better with your time instead of making crazy theories about a blog and the "rich" girl that writes it (for ex: Anyway, now that I know you are a porteña, I know that you know what I´m talking about here, and that it makes sense."
Do you know it? Are you saying nobody else but you is capable of faking something they are NOT? )
have a nice day

Di-Diva,

"Oh , I should have noticed that you are american when I read this : Vos estas un poco histerica, nena."

No es lo que dicen los porteños... y vos también? Es aqui que uno lo aprende... Como sos suscetible. All in all, the answer might even not be blowing in the wind, but you are. You go wherever the wind blows ya. Why am I from the US? Do you hate US people too?

"well ,my answer to your question would be "it´s my party and I cry if I want to""

I have noticed. What a sad, sad day for America. Is it really posible that an event/blog full of crying, howlin and wailing be a party? If so, have fun.

"And yes, I´m an histerica o estoy histerica (if you like it better that way)on recovery, but believe me it´s not an easy task to abandon that habit."

I've noticed. But why do you complain about others?

"Me? a rebel? I´ve been trhough that already."

OK, I'll take it.

"mmmmm, at first I was amused, but now you are trying to be smart and going a little crazy."

Is spelling your name backwards a lil crazy? OK.

"Maybe you should do something better with your time instead of making crazy theories about a blog and the "rich" girl that writes it (for ex: Anyway, now that I know you are a porteña, I know that you know what I´m talking about here, and that it makes sense."

That was smart of you. Perhaps you should do somehting better with your time too.

"Do you know it? Are you saying nobody else but you is capable of faking something they are NOT? )"

Whattabadenglish. Anyway, it seems you finally found a tough one here. Like a cockroach in the throes of death, I see your aura vanishing.

As I said, have a nice vacation, I've got a ticket to ride, and for a loooong time :)

Now I know for sure that you are completely insane.
I don´t hate people from the US at all, you said that, I just figured that out because you don´t know the difference between SER y ESTAR.
by the way, I´m glad que vas a estar lejos.
have a nice flight
by the way, I´m going to your country in september, maybe you can teach me some english lessons

You are both so right in everything you say.
"I´m so much better in person than what my Diva character is that you´d probably love me if you meet me.."
That is true, at least for a while she is super cool!

BTW, Diva, have you heard about Orquesta Tipica EL AFRONTE in San Telmo? They are raarararaarocking!
