Where to eat paying 2001 prices: La Aromatica

I don´t usually post about my favourite places or the places I frequent because you know how tourism can change things. But one of my top places in Buenos Aires is struggling to survive and it´s because they are not getting enough clients. That place is called La Aromatica and they serve Colombian food.

This place is tiny but it´s really good and cheap. Plus it has a very good vibe since all the people that work there are young travellers who work only when they are visiting BA (and they don´t work everyday, that´s the key for a healthy living IMO). And you know how it works: if you travel you are happy, therefore you prepare happy tasty food (as for the waiters, they are sooo happy that sometimes they can forget that they have to work and they make you wait more than they should, be patient, please).

Everyday (Monday thru Saturday) they open at noon and the menu -appetizer,main, dessert, glass of fresh juice- cost 15 pesos. And believe it or not, it´s delicious. They also open at night but it´s a little bit more expensive (anyway you´ll find it dirty cheap).

If you go, let me know how it was.

I just went for lunch today after reading your post:
They served an all vegetarian menu, and very good.
The waiter was very nice and she said that at night they do serve meat, and that I should call for reservations because since the place is so small they get crowded.
Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the tip! I'd love to eat ajiaco again. It's a great help for the winter.
BTW, did you tried the ants?

Your blog is pretty cool.

Cheers

Is this like the Colombian section of town? Like 5 blocks from there is another one on Av. Cordoba.

I will take you up on your recommendation though and try this spot soon.

Thanks for the heads up!

I´ll check that cordoba restaurant, I´ll be staying a few blocks away from it for 2 months!

Not at all honeybunny. ;-)

Jumbo`s offices are right in between both restaurants so next time I find myself going there for a meeting I will have to stop by for lunch.

If I am really lucky we could even meet up for lunch.

Juste let me know when you have one of those meetings.

I can't get enough of this place; both times I've gone for lunch and the menu has been very distinct, interesting, and delicious. The atmosphere is also very unique and creative... all around great time and I highly recommend it.

Hola Ellie!!! I´m glad that you went there again and enjoyed it.
