Big-mac Index

According to the big mac index , we are now more expensive than the US. The big mac costs 3.64 dollars while in the US costs 3,57, in Australia 3,36 and in Japon 2,62!!!

Please, economyst and smart people who read my blog, what do you have to say about this?

This is sad for Argentina, it shows that we never learn anything, not even from the very recent 2001 crisis that lasted till 2003. Only 5 years have passed and we are back in our we-are-rich mode. We are paying 380 pesos to go to concerts, 10 pesos for a crappy burger, 80 pesos for a shitty t-shirt. Anyway, we all know how this is going to end, but we pretend that this time the party will last forever, like we did before.
Argentina is an endless Deja-Vú

Milanesa a la napolitana con papas fritas

The milanesa (breaded veal) a la napolitana is one of the few typical dishes from Buenos Aires. Everyone adore it, or at least eat it every once in a while.
The story goes like this: There was this restaurant in microcentro and there was a guy who used to go there every single day ( the kind of person that I wouldn´t even look at). One day, he arrived later than usual and all they had left in the kitchen was a burnt Milanesa. The owner of the place, afraid that if they didn´t feed the guy they´d loose a client, took the burnt milanesa and added tomato sauce, ham and cheese on top of it. He served the milanesa with french fries and Voila: He invented the Milanesa a la napolitana (with fritas/fries).
I´m telling all this because I want to recommend a place in Abasto (actually you can find this restaurant in other parts of the city, but I´m not sure they have this promotion). It´s called Kentucky, in Corrientes corner with Billinghurst. They serve a gigantic milanesa with fries and a 1.5 litter bottle of soda all for 30 pesos. When I say gigantic I mean enormous. I shared this menu with 2 friends and we were completely satisfied. Can you believe it? 3 people eating for 30 pesos!!! I don´t remember paying 10 pesos since 2002.
Anyway, go, live the porteño experience, and go back to your country telling the story about the gigantic milanesa that was for 3 people to share but you ended up eating by yourself.

By the way, if you don´t like milanesas, they have very good porteño style pizzas.

This is the beauty I was talking about. This picture was taken by Sandro. Thank you a lot!!!
