Ultimately, it all depends on ones perspective, no? If you are there enjoying BA and want to work for any reason other than a need to live on the income - then some of these are good deals - but if you need to live on an income from BA, Good Luck - and in my eyes, it's definitely worth the effort to try & if you do land a job that enables you to do more than just live on the income, my hat is off to you! After a fabulous year there, I had to leave as I was unable to find a good job. And ironically, I returned at one of the most economically challenging times in our history. So instead of being unemployed in BA and enjoying life there - I am unemployed and job hunting in the US. But good luck to you all still looking and enjoying life in Argentina!

Sue,

You're not the only one that is/was in that boat. You posted in May, and now I'm here in October. I arrived in May, and I couldn't find a job. The jobs that were available were paying nothing.

For example, I found one job working at a hostel on Avenida de Mayo, close to Saenza Pena stop on Line A. They wanted to pay me $1500 pesos PER MONTH. That would pay my rent, and leave me with $30 bucks to survive for the month. If you're going to work here, the wages aren't even livable.

Just a few months ago I finally got a job working online. Shocking because I thought they were all scams. One day I clicked a google adsense ad, and wound up at this page www.newtelecommutejoblist.com and got a job working for The Huffington Post (heard of it? huffingtpost.com haha) working as a content manager. Better yet, I'm getting paid an amazing salary. I probably got lucky, but really.. telecommute is probably the best way to go if you're in Buenos Aires.

Suerte, Sue y todos los demas!! :)
